We are a class at Montana State University that has organized a free market event where the goal of the event is to bring items and goods to donate and barter to create a “marketplace” where there is no conventional purchasing power. The event aims to form a temporary and/or permanent sense of community around the act of bartering. People are encouraged to bring items, goods, skills, talents, smiles and discussion to donate and barter therefore creating a nonconventional “marketplace” that encourages human interaction and community connection. It will truly be a FREE event for all who may want to participate and our whole goal is for people to be able to come with what they have and leave with what they need, whether that is a life skill or a connection within their community. We invite anyone and everyone of all ages to join us for this event! All we ask is for you to bring an item that you would wish to trade and yourself!
