MSU Commencement

Montana State University will confer degrees on approximately 1,173 students during its 137th commencement ceremony, which is set for 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16. 

This fall semester, there are expected to be 851 undergraduate students and 166 master’s and doctoral students receiving degrees, according to MSU Office of the Registrar. There will also be 46 students from Gallatin College MSU who are expected to receive associate degrees or certificates. In addition, 110 students who graduated in the summer session will be eligible to participate in fall commencement ceremonies. 

As part of the ceremony, MSU alum Alexander E. MacDonald, a pioneer in computer weather prediction who is known internationally for his research on addressing climate change, will receive an MSU honorary doctorate of humane letters during the ceremony.
