Avalanche Awareness by Friends of GNFAC

The GNFAC and the Friends of GNFAC teach a variety of avalanche classes. The goal is to save lives by providing avalanche education and information, and classes are a key component in reaching this goal. Anyone who lives in or near the mountains needs to be aware of avalanches. Understanding what avalanches are, how they form, where they occur, and how to avoid them is critical. KBYG will introduce basic avalanche awareness to attendees. Join at REI to learn about avalanche terrain, weather, decision-making and rescue!
