This history walking tour traverses the core of MSU's campus. Stops along the way account for a range of students and employees in the university's past whose work helps define "conservation" broadly & inclusively. Beyond agronomists and foresters, the tour features dining hall cooks, Yellowstone's first woman park ranger, countercultural visual artists, and those whose efforts 50 years ago led to MSU's new American Indian Hall. This event is a part of Environmental History Week put on by the American Society for Environmental History. This walking tours stems from a collaborative project between an MSU graduate group called The Last Best Place Collective and The Extreme History Project. It is free and open to the public!
