The Highland Games originate from early Scottish traditions, such as throwing stones to train to fight since they could not own weapons, or turning logs end over end to bring home for fire wood. The traditions have lasted many years and have turned into a popular competition across the world, consisting of nine heavy weight throwing events, each with a unique style and technique. Competitors are required to wear a kilt, and there is a $30 participation fee. Or just come and enjoy the show, we are happy to answer any questions. The Bozeman Folklore Society will also be providing live music and a chance to join in some Folk Dancing.
