Downbeat Vintage Swing Society announces The Big Sky Swingout Lindy Hop Festival, happening July 14-16th at the Eagles in downtown Bozeman. This weekend event includes over 8 hours of workshops, two nights of live music, and a picnic in the park. Downbeat is bringing in professional dance instructors, Irina Amzashvili and Natalia Eristavi, who have crafted a top-notch curriculum that offers something for dancers of all experience levels. A Friday evening social dance at Blend Wine Bar will kick the weekend off. Classes will be taught upstairs at the Eagles, focusing on lead and follow dynamics and rhythm play. Both the Saturday and Sunday night dances will take place at the Eagles with live music by Queen City Swing from Helena on Saturday and the Bridger Mountain Big Band on Sunday. A picnic and outdoor dance will take place on Sunday afternoon at Glenn Lake Rotary Park. No partner is necessary for any event during the workshop weekend.
