Classic Literature Book Club: Beowulf

Written one thousand years ago, Beowulf is the oldest surviving work in Old English, and the first of its kind to make the transition from the oral tradition to written form. Filled with vivid battle scenes, it is named for a young warrior in fifth-century Scandinavia who achieves glory by fighting and killing various monsters and governing his land wisely for 50 years.

In addition to the Library copies, this title is available to borrow as a Book on CD, or as an eBook or audiobook with no waiting or holds on hoopla.

The Classic Literature Book Club focuses on literature that has withstood the test of time and continues to be relevant. If you always wanted to read, and discuss such books, the Classic Literature Book Club might be the book club for you. We meet on the third Saturday of the month from 10:15 until noon in the 2nd floor Ponderosa room at Bozeman Public Library.

Contact Jan Light for more information.

The Classic Literature Book Club does not meet in December.
