Fall 2023 Cybersecurity Competition and Career Networking event
Gallatin College Montana State University will host the inaugural Fall 2023 Cybersecurity Competition and Career Networking event on Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. at its East Campus location, 705 Osterman Drive in Bozeman. The event is open to students from Gallatin College MSU, MSU and local high schools.
The event will begin with a cyber competition hosted by Hoplite Industries, a Bozeman-based company that develops cloud and network technology. Students from Gallatin College MSU will participate in team challenges where the winners will receive various prizes donated by Hoplite Industries.
Following the competition, lunch will be hosted by CyberMontana, which provides cybersecurity education across the state. A networking opportunity will follow where local technology employers can meet students and students can present their resumes.
“There will be two pathways for students,” said Ronda Black, director of information technology at Gallatin College MSU. “One path will be for those with cybersecurity skillsets and a second for students from high schools that don’t have those necessary skills. Students will learn about what to expect in cybersecurity and be exposed to tools and methodologies used in the field.”
