The Humor Habit with Paul Osincup

Registration is open for the MSU Leadership Institute’s upcoming workshop, The Humor Habit, featuring Humor Strategist Paul Osincup. This workshop will focus on the themes of humor and leadership and is meant to help attendees develop their humor, feel confident in communicating what they are feeling, and learn how to appropriately utilize humor in everyday life and leadership settings. The workshop will take place February 22nd from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm in Ballroom A of the Strand Union Building .

The workshop facilitator, Paul Osincup, is a Humor Strategist, Author, and Speaker who helps people create more connected, productive, and intentionally positive places to work. Paul’s global mission for workplace happiness has provided him the opportunity to work with hundreds of organizations like Google, Discover, The Harvard Kennedy School of Leadership, and the U.S. Army. With a background in higher education leadership and administration, in his previous professional life, Paul served as an Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Director of Conflict Resolution, and taught graduate courses on communication and leadership. He’s been featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education for his work in restorative justice and served as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Higher Education Center for Alcohol, Drug, and Violence Prevention.

Despite the serious nature of his work, Paul’s also been a “Jack of all Jokes” since grade school. After building a successful side hustle in stand-up and improv comedy, he developed a nerdy obsession about the power of humor to enhance well-being, resilience, and leadership. This obsession led Paul to the presidency – the presidency of the Association of Applied and Therapeutic Humor, an international organization dedicated to the study and application of humor to improve health and human performance.
