Wetland BioBlitz 2024

If you're interested in citizen science and want to learn about the biodiversity at your local urban wetland, join the Sacajawea Audubon Society at the Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve (IAWP) for our third annual BioBlitz July 19, 20, and 21! A BioBlitz is a citizen science project in which community members try to find and identify as many species as possible in a certain area in a short period of time. At the IAWP, this provides a yearly snapshot of the species present at our wetland, allowing us to see the effects of the upcoming wetland restoration process as well as environmental changes in Bozeman and the surrounding area over time. Participants can join as many teams as they like to identify birds, insects, plants, and more. No experience is necessary to join, as each team is led by an expert who will help you find and identify the species. All the observations will be collected in iNaturalist and we will present preliminary data at a wrapup event on Sunday night, July 21. For more information go to bozemanwetlands.org or email wetlands@sacajaweaaudubon.org, and sign up for the BioBlitz here: https://tinyurl.com/iawpblitz24
