Baroque Music Montana Presents: A Montana Vespers
Baroque Music Montana (BaMM) presents "Amoris Domicilium: A Montana Vespers," featuring period instruments and a quartet of nationally renowned singers. The program of intimate vocal chamber music features light, pure voices and convivial instrumental interactions. Repertoire includes selections from the 17th century including Kerll's contemplative Mass, Cazzati's splendid Magnificat, and Buxtehude's meditative "Herr, wenn ich nur dich habe" and "Membra Jesu Nostri: Ad pectus," interspersed with instrumental sonatas by Rosenmuller and Kerll.
Vocalists include soprano Andrea Zomorodain from Los Angeles, who recently soloed with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic. Mezzo soprano Sylvia Leith returns after her outstanding debut in BaMM's February Handel program. Tenor Stephen Soph has been praised as a “superb vocal soloist” by The Washington Post and for his “impressive clarity and color” by The New York Times. Bass-Baritone Edmund Milly is sought after for his “annunciatory power” (New York Times), “perfect diction” (Los Angeles Times), and distinctive “delicacy and personal warmth” (Boston Classical Review).
This program is sponsored by Dave & Kippy Sands.
