Bozeman’s Mayor Hosts Affordable Housing Talk

Housing, especially the availability of affordable housing, is on the minds of many Bozeman residents. Bozeman’s Mayor Terry Cunningham will be hosting two presentations to discuss the state of affordable housing in Bozeman and what the City has been doing to address this issue onMonday, Sept. 23 at noon (Ellen Theater) and 6 p.m. (Gallatin High). All members of the public are invited to attend, listen and ask questions.

“Housing is a frequent topic of discussion at our weekly Commission meetings, but the average citizen may not be tuned into everything we’re working on, and we’d like to provide a ‘snapshot in time’ on the subject of affordable housing,” Mayor Cunningham explained. “The presentation will focus on the challenges, successes and opportunities associated with affordable housing. It is one of the central reasons why people struggle to live and stay in Bozeman.”

This event is also an opportunity for people to learn more about what the City of Bozeman is doing around housing so more residents can get involved in engagement efforts like the Unified Development Code and the Affordable Housing Ordinance.

Each talk will involve a presentation from the mayor followed by a facilitated Q&A with attendees. The same presentation will be given at both locations.

Those interested in learning more about these events can call the City Manager’s office at 406-582-2322.
