Parent University: Supporting Your Middle Schooler at Home

Parenting through the middle school years comes with new challenges — and new opportunities to support independence. In this Parent University session, Cora Davidson, Board-Certified Educational Therapist, will share effective ways parents can help their children build skills for success and independence. With expertise in executive functioning, learning differences, and the social-emotional challenges of adolescence, Cora will highlight strategies that truly make a difference — and common approaches that may unintentionally hold students back.
Topics will include supporting homework and organization without taking over, encouraging independence while still providing guidance, and fostering healthy routines that build confidence and resilience. Parents will leave with practical tools and a deeper understanding of how to balance support with independence, setting their middle schoolers up for long-term success.
