OLLI at MSU Fly Fishing Discussion Group

We live in an area that is known the world over for its fly fishing. Not surprisingly, we have many fly fishing anglers and experts in the area. This shared interest group of fly-fishing enthusiasts gathers once a month to discuss and learn about various topics related to trout, their environment, techniques and other fishy subjects of interest to the participants. All levels are welcome.

This group meets on the last Monday of each month at the Bozeman Public Library. OLLI will notify participants of any change in venue.

  • January 19: Winter Fishing (Please note that this session is on the second Tuesday and will meet at Hope Lutheran Church.)
  • February 23: Intro to Fly Tying
  • March 30: Monitoring Fishing Populations and Pressure in the Madison and Gallatin Watershed
  • April 27: Stream Restoration
  • May 25: Fishing the Spring Creeks in MT or How to Find Great Fishing Spots
