Join the community celebration to honor railman, photographer and lover of trains, Livingston’s own, Warren McGee. A life-size bronze statue of McGee will be placed at Underpass Park with a dedication ceremony. All are welcome to join the celebration at the place where McGee spent much of his life watching, conducting, and photographing trains.

Over his remarkable 102-year life, Warren McGee left a lasting mark on Livingston and Park County. A master photographer and engineer, he documented decades of Northern Pacific Railroad history while championing many of the places and stories that define our community. He was instrumental in preserving Sacagawea Park, and establishing the Yellowstone Gateway Museum. He even helped save the Livingston Depot, and stop the proposed dam that would have flooded Paradise Valley.

Thanks to a generous gift from the Washington Foundation and a partnership among the Livingston Depot Foundation, the Park County Community Foundation, the City of Livingston, and the Livingston Downtown Building Owners & Business Association, Warren's legacy will be honored with a life-size bronze statue in Underpass Park. Created by acclaimed sculptor Mary Murphy, whose Sacagawea and Pomp sculpture stands near the Civic Center, the statue celebrates Warren's lifelong dedication to preserving our railroad heritage and community.

Warren McGee had a gift for bringing people together to accomplish extraordinary things, and this statue is just the beginning. It represents new partnerships, a revitalized Underpass Park and pedestrian corridor, a more beautiful downtown, and a stronger community—continuing the collaborative spirit that defined Warren's life. 

Underpass Park is located at the corner of Park and Main streets, adjacent to the Northern Pacific Beanery. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony at the Livingston Depot Center.
