Science Math Resource Center at Montana State seeks teacher feedback for educator needs assessment
BOZEMAN — The Science Math Resource Center at Montana State University is encouraging educators across the state to complete its 2024 Montana K-12 Educator Needs Assessment. This online survey is designed to gather actionable data about K-12 educators’ professional learning needs, preferences and barriers, particularly as they relate to science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, concepts in the classroom.
A link to the educator needs assessment can be found on the SMRC home page at montana.edu/smrc. The deadline to complete the survey is June 10, and all respondents will be entered into a prize drawing for a chance to win a gift card.
The 2024 Montana K-12 Educators Needs Assessment replicates the first version of the survey, conducted in 2020. The findings from the initial needs assessment provided an opportunity for Montana University System researchers and others with access to STEM resources to strategize on how to share them with the K-12 education community, thus advancing the broader impacts of MUS research. The 2020 needs assessment report can be found at Montana K-12 Educator Needs Assessment Survey Report: 2020.
The 2024 Montana K-12 Educator Needs Assessment was developed in partnership with the Human Ecology Learning and Problem Solving (HELPS) Lab at MSU and supported by the Montana National Science Foundation (NSF) Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR).
