Bozeman Symphony and Symphonic Choir to Present Mozart’s Requiem

BOZEMAN -- The Bozeman Symphony and Bozeman Symphonic Choir present Mozart’s epic Requiem, the first concert in the Choir Series for the 2024-25 season. This monumental work will be performed during the third weekend of November, offering audiences an unforgettable experience.

The Requiem stands as one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s greatest and most profound compositions—a work that offers solace and explores the endurance of the human spirit. Its creation is steeped in mystery and intrigue, with legend suggesting that Mozart composed the Requiem while facing his own mortality. This adds an additional layer of intensity and emotional power to a piece that continues to captivate audiences centuries later.

Under the baton of Music Director Norman Huynh, the Bozeman Symphony Orchestra and the 90-voice Bozeman Symphonic Choir, led by interim Choir Director Maren Marchesini, will bring this timeless masterpiece to life. The concerts will feature renowned vocal soloists Janai Brugger, soprano; Siena Licht Miller, mezzo-soprano; Sidney Outlaw, baritone; and Brian Skoog, tenor.

As one of the most beloved and frequently performed works in the classical repertoire, theRequiem has left an indelible mark on music history, affirming Mozart's status as one of the greatest composers of all time. The score's timeless beauty and emotional depth also made it the centerpiece of the Academy Award-winning film Amadeus.

Performances are Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 202 West Main Street in downtown Bozeman.
