City of Belgrade, City of Bozeman to Host Joint Council Meeting June 30
Meeting will focus on regional infrastructure and development efforts
BOZEMAN – For the first time in recent memory, the City of Belgrade and City of Bozeman will host a joint council meeting with their elected officials. The meeting will be held on June 30 at 6 p.m. at the Belgrade Library’s Community Room, 205 E Main Street.
“This meeting continues an effort that our City Commission has been deeply invested in – identifying more ways we can partner and collaborate with other key entities in the region,” Bozeman Mayor Terry Cunningham stated. “For region-wide issues like transportation, housing and land planning, we all make better decisions when we communicate and tackle big challenges like these together.”
The meeting will include discussions on regional infrastructure efforts, such as the Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Urban Transportation District, and potential collaboration on utilities including water, wastewater, and stormwater.
On the development side, elected officials will discuss the Regional Housing Collaborative, Planning Coordination Committee, and ideas for collaborating and planning around land between Bozeman and Belgrade as the municipalities grow.
“Belgrade and Bozeman share more than a border; we share the responsibility of planning for a fast-growing region,” Belgrade Mayor Russ Nelson added. “This joint meeting is an important step in working together on infrastructure, housing, and land use challenges that affect us all. I appreciate the opportunity for our City Council and the Bozeman Commission to sit down face to face and discuss ideas and collaborate.”
