Belgrade Community Library Announces 2026 One Book Belgrade Community Read

BELGRADE — Belgrade Community Library invites the community to take part in One Book Belgrade 2026, a long-standing library and community tradition that brings readers together around a shared book and a season of free, public programs.
One Book Belgrade offers residents a chance to read the same book at the same time and connect through discussion and shared experiences. In 2026, the library is carrying that tradition forward in a new way by shifting the program to a March schedule and expanding opportunities for community conversation through themed events, presentations, and creative programs.
“This program has always been about more than a book,” said Belgrade Library Director Alina Prunean. “It’s about bringing people together, creating connections, and giving the community a shared experience during the quieter months of the year.”
Copies of the 2026 featured adult title are now available. Weekly programs will take place throughout March, with a capstone Author Talk on April 1. (See full list of events below.) Additional companion events for children and teens are being finalized and will be announced as details are confirmed.
The 2026 adult selection is Beartooth by Callan Wink, a novel set on the edge of Yellowstone National Park that explores survival, family loyalty, public lands, and the consequences of desperation. The book has been recognized by The Economist, Apple Books, Kirkus Reviews, and The Wall Street Journal as one of the best books of the year.
Families are also invited to read along with the middle-grade companion title, 15 Secrets to Survival by Natalie D. Richards. Recommended for ages 8–12, the book follows four classmates on a wilderness project who must rely on each other, a handbook, and their instincts when their instructor disappears.
All One Book Belgrade events are free, require no registration, and are held at Belgrade Community Library. Community members are welcome to attend a single event or participate in the full series.
