๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ moved here in the late 90โ€™s,,,,. so youโ€™re not a Montanan. You (and all the other transplants) are the reason the cost is so high. Get over it. How do you think the people from Montana feel? You chose to leave your home, we didnโ€™t. You changed the state and this is what happens. If you were not born here, youโ€™re not a local. Stop acting like you helped make Montana more enjoyable with โ€œ developmentโ€ Thanks for destroying Montana and the way Montana was.

I moved to Bozeman from Missoula in the early 2,000's it was expensive back then now it is 3x. Unfortunately, the trend is that Bozeman is about 2-3 yrs ahead of the rest the western metropolitan areas of the state in pricing. Many people I grew up with either moved out of state long ago or pay thru the nose on rent. Zoom boomers and air bnb rentals are replacing friendly neighbors, that is the trend. My siblings have little prospect of home ownership, which saddens me. My wife and I left Bozeman in 2019, it was one of best decisions I've made as an adult. Of course I could have made a small fortune buying and selling land after the rescesion but that requires capital which is hard to come by with wages in this state Even with two professional incomes, 110k/ye at the time, it was hard to make it work out. Now it is so much worse, but there is money to made in construction, demand is thru the roof.

Thank you Phil for this virtual tour through this wild place! I will never forget watching six bull elk loping across the plateau heading north with the sunset behind. And we had some parties in the Porcupine cabin too! The Forest Service should continue to acquire private lands and make it Wilderness.

Being born in Montana doesnโ€™t entitle you to special privileges. If you think that someone who has lived in Bozeman for over 20 years isnโ€™t a โ€œlocalโ€ and/or able to have a valid opinion about whatโ€™s happening to the town, then you need to get your head checked. The influx of people that have changed this town significantly migrated here in the last 5-10 years. The author isnโ€™t your enemy.

If you don't understand what they are talking about you need to get your head checked. The people who moved here 20 years are no different than the people moving here now. The only difference is that the people who moved here 20 years ago got a jump start on the people now. Its the kettle calling the pot black. The fact remains, the new people moving here are changing it, just like the people who moved her 10, 15, 20 years ago changed it then. If you're not grasping that concept,, you must be a transplant too.

Go back far enough and you're not a Montanan either. Regarding growth and "the way it was" - unless every generation of your family has only given birth to a single child, you are a contributor to population growth and the "development" of your beloved state.

So absurd, aren't you the guy who just wrote: "My wife and I left Bozeman in 2019"??? If you left, then you are now a transplant too. Ever hear of this thing called logic? Lol

My state has majority online school and the negatives are equally, if not more, detrimental. High achievers learn about 20% of content (others less), social isolation, weight gain, complete loss of motivation or curiosity, screen addiction, depression, and even suicides. No sports, no arts (ok you can do online arts but students drop out rather than pursue that route.). The teachers are coping best they can but theyโ€™re over it as well. Kids are not required to turn on cameras so the teacher is talking to a wall. Itโ€™s been a wasted educational year. Kids need to be in person to thrive.

I am Randy Church's sister. We've lived with this for 36 years now. 36 years is a long time with no answers. My only question throughout this entire 36 years is: why? How about doing a story with his siblings? See how his death has affected us? How we deal with it? What our thoughts are?

Good. Instead of figuring out where the working class is going to live you guys are approving steak houses, micro brewery's, swanky music venues and organic tofu markets.
