Article The Gallatin Range: Bozeman's Big Back Yard

Fantastic article, Phil! He shows it is critical that USFS & Congress favor full wilderness protection of the Hyalite, Porcupine, Buffalo Horn Wilderness Study Area!

Article Children’s Theater in Bozeman

Our granddaughter, Avery, is in both pictures on the left. She is a wonderful aspiring actor and we are so proud.

Article March Cover Artist: June Billings Safford

June’s humility about her extraordinary creative gifts belies her impact on the Bozeman community throughout these years. The writers who open their hearts through their stories about Bozeman and the pairings with June’s paintings resonate like a tuning fork. Wish I could be at the event.

Article Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women But What Can…

I go over to justice.gov and see the federal court news. The US District courts handle the severe crimes that arise on the Indian reservations. I see they added strangulation as a separate charge. It is natives assaulting and strangling one another. There have been homicides where it is a native vs native, both males and females. I see when these folks go off the reservation into the bigger towns and cities the natives women are getting killed. These typically occur in the scuzzy areas of the city. It's often hard to determine who the perpetrater is on these. It is no surprise to me folks are getting killed in these areas of the city. These places have a reputation for such goings on. Cities have a containment policy where the powers that be try to keep this element contained in one area. Now I'm reading where natives, both male and female are being victimized. These skid row areas are rough. It is best for not just natives but everyone to be aware of their situation at all times. Keep to the nicer part of the city. Heretofor I ignored this topic. I always said these people are committing mayhem amongst themselves but now that its a big issue I will wait and see where this movement goes.

Article Gallatin Wilderness: Don’t be Fooled by the…

If we don't get it right now, this ecosystem is really at risk. With exploding population and climate change, wildlife will be squeezed into ever shrinking islands of habitat unless we set aside roadless lands with the strongest possible protection the nation has, designated Wilderness. There are plenty of places to play in this great state. It's time to put wildlife and wild lands first. Come to a public meeting to share your view. Wednesday April 3, 6:30 pm at Hilton Garden Inn is your chance in Bozeman.

I am sorry to hear you were upset about the location of Sage Lodge, but if you want to come by sometime and not speculate about it feel free too. Not everyone shares your opinion about Sage Lodge.

Article Top 10 Ways to Spot a Tourist in Montana

Love this! I go fishing for tourists in Yellowstone Park. Find any empty pullout. Pull in, leaving yourself an easy escape. Everybody in the car gets out and looks, pointing in the same direction. It helps if one or more of the party has binoculars. Now, the trick is...you're looking at absolutely nothing!! As soon as you get cars pulling in...drive off!
