Great article, Joy. I'm not so sure that the dog was not tortured. I don't care what they say. It's horrible what happens to defenseless animals -- and children. Keep up your good work. I am moving out of town later this month, but will keep my 'eye' on this page.
Great article. For Hebgen Lake, though, tidal wave is an incorrect term. The rocking back and forth of Hebgen's water were seiche waves caused by the sudden drop of the lakebed by 20 feet.

Thank you Jacob, I learned something:) I'll add that information to the file at the museum.
As this was an excerpt from the book written in 1962 the visual description was how most people identified with the "look" of the wall of water.

What a horribly named article. This should be titled How To Vacation in Montana and Miss Most of what makes the state Special! So absurd how much this article leaves out its obvious the author needs to spend a bit more time around the state before writing such a pretentiously titled "ultimate" Montana ANYTHING!
Great article, Angie! I am a native Montanan, and it has been hard to swallow the change. However, I think your approach of intentionally continuing to carry on our cultural customs is so good - instead of spending our time and energy complaining, we can embrace the opportunity to actively share our Montana ways with those moving in. Diversity is a good thing! We also must respectfully remember that some of our ancestors, too, were "foreigners" at one point on this land.
